Example of Cuban creator joins art and sport in US capital.
The combination of art and sport shows its value once again in uniting the peoples of Cuba and the United States with an exhibition of the plastic artist from Reynerio Tamayo Island, inaugurated here today.
The Arena Stage will host until next July 28 the show Cuban Slugger, which brings together several iconic baseball figures from both countries, and elements and symbols from their respective cultures.
According to Thomas Goodman, executive director of the Caribbean Foundation of Education and Baseball and one of those responsible for bringing the exhibition to this capital
in the context of the Major League All-Star Game next July 17, Tamayo’s work speaks to everyone.
No matter the language, if you were born in one country or another, it is the language of baseball,
a shared passion we all have, he emphasized.
